When to go to Morocco
Morocco is not one climate. It is three, and they disagree with each other. The coast is mild when Marrakech is unbearable. The Sahara is perfect in the weeks the High Atlas is shut under snow.

Why the month matters more here than almost anywhere
Marrakech and Fes sit inland and hold heat. Marrakech runs about 18°C in January and 38 to 42°C in July and August. Fes goes past 42°C. That is not hot. That is a temperature at which walking a medina in the afternoon stops being sightseeing and starts being endurance.
The Sahara works in reverse of what people expect. It is at its best from October to April, and above 45°C outside that window. The desert here is a winter destination.
The High Atlas keeps its own calendar again. Trekking is reliable from April to June and from September to October. Toubkal opens around April, though snow lingers at altitude into May. In deep winter the Tizi n’Tichka pass can close, which matters if your plan involves driving from Marrakech to the desert.
The Atlantic coast ignores all of it. Essaouira and the beaches stay around 20°C in summer while the interior bakes. That is why Moroccans go there in August, and why it is the one part of the country that works in the months everything else does not.
Ramadan
Ramadan 2027 runs roughly from 7 February to 8 March. The dates move about eleven days earlier each year and depend on the moon, so treat them as approximate until closer to the time.
Nobody will ask you to fast. But during daylight hours many restaurants outside tourist areas are shut, opening times shift, and the whole rhythm of the day moves.
Should you avoid it? No, but book it deliberately rather than by accident. Evenings during Ramadan are one of the best things that happens in this country all year. Just do not arrive expecting lunch.
